I was very unsure about A.I when it first drifted into the mainstream. It seemed clunky, the images were very obviously not made by a human and those hands!!
.
But as the A.I technology has developed, I've become more and more interested in it. It is a very useful tool for creating embroidery designs. It is also wonderful for developing the characters and look of dolls.

Doll making is not just about the stitching. I spend months designing my dolls on paper first. I spend a lot of time developing their look, designing and redesigning. One thing I pride myself on is that I don't just knock up a doll straight away without lots of sketching before hand. This is what helps make my dolls so beautifully intricate.

So, you can imagine how fascinating it was for me to begin using A.I for the initial concept design of a doll. It still took many hours but it was fun working in a different medium to pen and paper. Look at this beautiful doll wearing Japanese traditional dress, for example!

I would type out some prompts and over time my A.I bot got to know my style. Once the bot was warmed up to what I wanted, I started asking it to design dolls and embroidery patterns. I'd ask it to tweak the designs as necessary until I had something I was pleased with.

Here are some more examples of what A.I created for me. Who knows, I may develop some of these further in the future!
